The Gallery’s annual Black & Gold Gala was a huge success. The event, which helps us raise money for exhibitions, public programming and other events at KW|AG was made possible in large part because of the generosity of our sponsors and donors, all of whom can be found on our website here >
One donor in particular stood out this year because of their spontaneity during the course of the evening.
During our live auction a dinner for 10 people to Entertaining Elements in St Jacob’s saw some stiff competition. Eager guests bid fiercely for the evening out. The item sold for $1,200 – well over the retail value. But all was not lost for the runner up who bid 1,000. In a great show of generosity Merv Schwantz, the owner of Entertaining Elements, offered them yet another gift – a second dinner for 10 at Entertaining Elements. Now that’s what we call connecting people through art.
Thank you once again to all our donors, sponsors and guests for making the evening such a success. Thank you also to RBC Wealth Management and RBC Phillips, Hager & North Investment Counsel the Gala’s Premiere Event Sponsors and to Miller Thomson, Supporting Sponsors. And a big thank you also goes out to the Black & Gold Committee, jazz guitarist Keith Murch and Karoline-Varin Jarkowski who created our art activities for the evening and all our hard working volunteers who truly made this night possible.
Cheers and see you next year!
