KW|AG Executive Director Shirley Madill welcomed guests and described the exhibitions as “a source of illumination” during the cold, dark winter months.

Guests were buzzing with excitement over the works of art. Here are just a few of the comments that appeared in the Twitterverse:

“Absolutely amazing installation work @kwartgallery. This exhibit is a must see!!!!”

“Best show I have ever seen @kwartgallery #KWAGOpening”

“Just had my mind blown at the #kwagopening at the @kwartgallery”

“At @kwartgallery checking out #KWAGOpenng. Some very cool art!”

“Holy wow, @kwartgallery just…wow! #KWAGOpening”

“The current exhibits at @kwartgallery are great! Make time to see the glass/mirror cube in the back of the gallery.”

Ahead of the opening artist Scott Johnson presented an Artist Talk on his work, Inversion, which can be veiwed in Another Victory Over the Sun.

Let’s Glow artists Marc Ngui and Magda Wojtyra were also spotted mingling with guests in their exhibit during the course of the evening.

Thanks to everyone who attended the opening, tweeted about the exhibitions and made the evening such a success. Special thanks to our volunteers and installation crew for all their hard work and to our sponsors: Sun Life Financial our free admissions sponsor, our Projection Equipment sponsor Christie Digital and to the Waterloo Region Record, our exclusive media partner.

We hope you’ll come “glow” at the Gallery this winter and continue this “victorious” run!
