Nine teens from across Waterloo Region came together to form the KW|AG Youth Council in March. Since then, we’ve been busy writing, drawing, cutting and pasting a collaborative zine and planning our Teen Night event on June 12!
The event is open to all secondary school-aged youth, and will include button-making, cupcake-decorating, interactive art activities designed by Council members and the launch of the Council zine, which will be available to take home. KW|AG’s Emotional Blackmail and Situational Comedy exhibitions will be open, as well. Oh, and there will be pizza, of course! Did I mention all of this is FREE? Drop in any time between 5 pm and 7 pm to check it out and make some art with us!

The Council will be starting up again on October 2, 2012. Meetings occur twice a month throughout the school year to work on new gallery programs including teen workshops, art exhibitions, publications and more!
The Youth Council gives teens aged 14-18 (grades 9 – 12), the chance to learn more about the art world, earn community volunteer hours, and make a difference for other teens in their community. For information on joining , contact Emily Gove by email at egove@kwag.on.ca or call 519 579 5860 x 227
