Gerhard Richter Painting

Join us at Princess Cinemas in Waterloo this Wednesday or Thursday night for the screening of “Gerhard Richter Painting.”

The documentary offers a glimpse into the life of the artist and his creative process.  Aside from the many shots of him at work in his studio, he’s also shown in his everyday life driving through Cologne (where he lives), attending gallery openings and looking through family photos. Long panning shots of walls lined with his paintings are highlighted throughout the documentary. There is also the occasional footage of Richter from the 60’s and 70’s.

For a glimpse of the film, check out the trailer.

The documentary was an official selection at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival. It will be shown both nights (June 13 & 14) at 7 pm.
