It was all smiles and laughter aboard the Steel Rail Sessions train Friday night.
Hundreds came out for the train ride from Waterloo to Elmira.
KW|AG was on train car #1 with the karaoke event “A Total Eclipse of the Heart.” Guests were microphone shy at first but they soon loosened up and were rocking renditions of Johnny Cash’s Ring of Fire, Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline and Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream (check out the video below for a glimpse at the our awesome night).
As you can tell from the video the karaoke car was packed (and super hot! Thank goodness for the other cars which had windows that opened!!).
The train made a stop in St. Jacobs where passengers were let off to enjoy the “Show in the Shop” featuring the music of The Jinks. Then it was back on the train for more singing all the way back toWaterloo.
In total, five rail cars made up the train, each with a different theme. Among them, Jefferson Campbell-Cooper ‘s North American Above Ground Subway System installation, art projects Economethea and Space Train and a car devoted entirely to Andy Borehol paintings.
The event, hosted by RQ Magazine, is the brainchild of Hilary Abel. Special mention and thanks go to Hilary for allowing us to participate and to our very own Emily Gove who organized the event and edited that awesome video.
We hope to see you on the train in 2013!
